Artist Statement :

In all of my work, be it painting, medical illustration, photography, print, or digital, I strive to educate (on basic or complex levels) through the simplest form of communication, art.

Background :

Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Bucks County, I have been influenced by the rich art and medical history that Philadelphia has to offer. I am a medical illustrator/animator, fine arts painter, graphic designer, with experince in digital video (editing, storyboarding, and production-green screen), black and white photography and printmaking. In my undergraduate education, I wrote a fine arts thesis with a body of abstract photography work to supplement it. My research project to fulfill my completion of my Masters of Science in Biomedical Visualization involved using 3-D technology and incorporating it into the tradtional techniques of forensic facial reconstruction to make the model appear more life like through texture mapping. The images I produced are intended to be re-released for a homicide case in the Cook County area (Chicago) that has not been solved. I have strong interests in multimedia, medical and life sciences, and forensic art. I have also exhibited in juried exhibitions at the Freedman Gallery at Albright College and at the Association of Medical Illustrators Annual meetings. I enjoy using technology in different fields to help better and evolve the medical arts, fine arts, education, and commuication.
